It is strongly recommended that children do not wear ear-rings on any days they have PE lessons or special events involving physical activity.
If you choose for your child to wear ear-rings on a PE day, they must be able to remove them independently. Children must bring a named boxed in which to store the ear-rings once removed.
Children are required to remove any items during PE lessons to prevent them from causing injury (for example being accidentally hit by a ball and the stem of an ear-ring piercing the skin). If your child is unable to remove their ear-rings, they will be able to join in with the group planning, designing, tactical discussions, peer coaching, observations or feedback tasks during lessons but will not be able to participate in any practical elements of the lessons.
Please note: School staff are not permitted to remove ear-rings and school will not provide, or allow children with any ear-rings or religious significance objects which have been taped to participate in the practical elements of PE lessons.
As well as many shops, school uniform is also available from the Swadlincote Clothes Bank at Hill Street Baptist Church or from the school office.
