SEN Report
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Pupils with special educational needs and disabilities may have physical, sensory, linguistic, emotional, social, behavioural or learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
Pupils follow the National Curriculum and, where necessary, have access to additional provision that aims to cater for their needs.
Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Mr. Tidmarsh, works closely with a number of external agencies to provide support for pupils and families. This, along with close collaboration by school staff, enables us to provide effective support and provision for those pupils with additional needs.
Our Sunshine Group provides valuable support for pupils with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Full details of the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Policy are available in the policies section of this website. Any complaints regarding SEN are dealt with using the school complaints procedure (see policy section).
Admission arrangements for children with disabilities
Prior to making an application for admission, we welcome families to make a visit to view the school site and to meet school staff. Admissions procedures are handled through Derbyshire local authority.
Inclusive Practise at Belmont
Reasonable adjustments, including necessary adaptations, are part of our every day practise to ensure that all children can access a broad and balanced curriculum. We make use of our school facilities to support with these adaptations.
Complaints about SEN support
Our school complaints policy can be found in the policies section of our website. Please contact the school office if you would like a paper copy.
