Design & Technology

 

Design and Technology is an exciting, practical subject which allows pupils to develop their creative skills through first-hand experience and exploration, whilst planning, designing and making. 

 

During their designing and making activities, pupils combine practical skills with an understanding of social and environmental issues. 

 

As part of their work in food and nutrition children will begin to explore what makes a healthy balanced diet, they will learn about where our food comes from and will plan and prepare both sweet and savoury dishes.

 

Design and Technology activities are taught in a variety of ways throughout the school and provide many opportunities for cross-curricular work which enhances the children’s experiences in our ever-changing world.

 

Activities are planned and evaluated to ensure continuity and progression by building on specific knowledge and skills as children progress through the school.
