Reading in the Infants

Children are taught to recognise the phonics necessary to become proficient readers through a structured phonics scheme.  This programme teaches phonetic knowledge in an ordered and thorough way, equipping children with the necessary tools to become independent and confident readers. 

Children bring home a book matched to their phonic level and a book to share with their adult for pleasure.

We are currently completing a phased implementation of the government approved 'Little Wandles Letters and Sounds' scheme.
