Our Local Area

Year 1 have looked at aerial maps of the school and local area, describing what they could see and recognising familiar places/buildings. Children in year 1 sequenced the route taken to get to the park. Once they had completed it they investigated routes round school and Eureka Park (our local park) explaining and discussing what they could see on their way. After they returned from their expedition, they created their own maps of the school for others to be able to use.
